"FINAL DE TEMPORADA DE BONES" / "BONES, SEASON FINALE"

Fin de la 4ta temporada de "Bones". La Dra. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) es una excelente antropóloga forense que trabaja para el Instituto Jeffersonian (basado en el Instituto Smithsoniano) y es, además, escritora de novelas, como el thriller policíaco La Pista en el Hueso. Generalmente interviene en investigaciones de asesinatos cuando los restos de las víctimas están irreconocibles. Posee una extraordinaria habilidad para descifrar claves ocultas en los cuerpos de las víctimas.

Temperance Brennan trabaja junto al agente Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) de la unidad de Investigaciones de Homicidios del FBI. Booth, un agente formado en el ejército, no cree en la ciencia ni en los científicos. Está convencido de que la clave para resolver los crímenes radica en descubrir la verdad a través de aquellos que aún están vivos -testigos y sospechosos- mediante técnicas tradicionales. Por este motivo, choca con la Dra. Brennan tanto en el terreno profesional como en el personal.

Brennan se siente más cómoda trabajando junto a su colega Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin), su mejor amiga y fiel seguidora, quien ha creado un excelente método para representar las escenas del crimen tridimensionalmente. Completan la serie Zack Addy (Eric Millegan), asistente de Brennan, un joven prodigio; Jack Hodgins (T.J. Thyne), experto en insectos y minerales, aunque su hobby son las teorías de la conspiración y el Dr. Daniel Goodman (Jonathan Adams), jefe de Brennan; a partir de la segunda temporada la Dra. Camille Saroyan (Tamara Taylor) se incorpora a la serie como la nueva jefa de Brennan.

Bones es un drama policial que conjuga humor y emociones.

"FINAL DE TEMPORADA DE LOST" / "LOST´S SEASON FINALE"

Anoche en EEUU, también terminó su 5ta temporada LOST. El 7 de mayo de 2007, el presidente de ABC Entertainment, Stephen McPherson, anunció que "Lost" terminará en 2010. "Sentíamos que ésta era la única manera de darle a Lost un final creativo y apropiado" dijo McPherson. Comenzando con la temporada de 2008, habrá 48 episodios finales de Lost que serán transmitidos en tres temporadas con 16 episodios cada una. Así, Lost concluirá con su sexta temporada. Estas temporadas serán transmitidas sin interrupciones durante el año.

El aviso de la ABC fue llamado "sin precedente" por los productores ejecutivos de Lost,Damon Lindelof y Carlton Cuse. Lindelof y Cuse también indicaron que "Lost tiene un inicio, un desarrollo y un final". El co-creador J.J.Abrams también elogió la decisión, comentando que "es la opción apropiada para la serie y sus espectadores. Aplaudo a ABC y Touchstone Television por la decisión".

Ayer en los EEUU terminó la primera temporada de FRINGE. En Argentina todavia se esta dando por el canal WARNER los días martes a las 22:00 hs. Fringe es una serie de televisión de ciencia ficción co-creada por J. J. Abrams (LOST), Alex Kurtzman y Roberto Orci. La serie trata de un científico investigador llamado Walter Bishop (descrito como un "Frankenstein mezclado con Albert Einstein" y que esta representado por John Noble), su hijo Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson), y un agente del FBI, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) quien los vuelve a reunir después de 17 años separados. La serie es descrita como un cruce entre The X-Files, Altered States, Dimensión desconocida y Dark Angel. Fringe sigue los pasos de la agente especial del FBI Olivia Dunham, el científico Walter Bishop y su hijo Peter, mientras ellos investigan casos que tratan sobre la ciencia "fringe" (pseudociencia). Alrededor del mundo, una serie de aparentes experimentos llamados colectivamente como "El patrón" están ocurriendo por causas desconocidas. Olivia, Peter, y Walter están a cargo de investigar estos extraños sucesos para determinar su origen. Fringe is a science fiction television series co-created by J. J. Abrams (LOST), Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The series is based in a research scientist named Walter Bishop (described as "Frankenstein mixed with Albert Einstein" and is represented by John Noble), his son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) and an FBI agent, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv ) who meet again after 17 years apart. Around the world, a series of apparent experiments collectively as the "pattern" are occurring for unknown reasons. Olivia, Peter and Walter are in charge of investigating these strange events to determine their origin. Connected to a "pattern" is a company called Massive Dynamic, which is a leading global research company that holds patents on many new and important technologies.

Cinco años después de su división, muy áspera, Creed se reforma para un nuevo álbum y una gira por América, que se inicia el 6 de agosto en Pittsburgh y se hace hasta de 14 de octubre. "Yo no llamaría a una reunión", dice el cantante Scott Stapp. "Es una renovación y un renacimiento. Extrañaba a los muchachos y quería crear música con ellos de nuevo. Estamos encantados de tener una segunda oportunidad para dar una primera impresión ". 
La conciliación se inició el pasado mes de diciembre, cuando Stapp se reunio con el guitarrista de Creed Mark Tremonti. Acordaron reunirse en el Hard Rock Hotel en Florida. "Yo estaba nervioso, pero también emocionado porque sabía que Mark tendrìa algo positivo," dice Stapp. "Hemos intercambiado fotos de familia y en 20 minutos estabamos improvisando en guitarras acústicas y hablar de nuevas canciones." Five years after their highly acrimonious split, Creed are reforming for a new album and an American tour, which kicks off August 6th in Pittsburgh and runs through October 14th. “I wouldn’t call it a reunion,” says singer Scott Stapp. “It’s a renewing and a rebirth. I missed my boys and wanted to create music with them again. We’re all thrilled to have a second chance to make a first impression.” The reconciliation began last December when Stapp reached out to Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti. They agreed to meet up at the Hard Rock Hotel in Florida before Stapp sang the “National Anthem” at the Champs Sports Bowl. “I was nervous, but also excited because I knew Mark would bring nothing but positivity,” says Stapp. “We exchanged family pictures and within 20 minutes we were jamming on acoustic guitars and talking about new songs.” They soon met up with drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall, who left Creed in 2000 but is returning for the new album and tour. “At that meeting we were collectively saying, ‘Hey man, I’m sorry if I hurt you or my choices did anything to cause you any pain. I have nothing but love and forgiveness for you and I hope you can forgive me. It’s all part of the process of reflection and not looking back at the six months out of 10 years that were trying.” Stapp and Tremonti already have six demos for the new album, which they plan on recording shortly in Nashville. They are currently looking for a producer. “We’re reached out to Brendan O’Brien, Mutt Lange, Bob Rock, Steve Lillywhite and six or seven more,” says Stapp. “We want to put ourselves around the best and have them bring out the best in us and challenge us as artists.” The likely title track is “Full Circle.” “It’s a favorite for all of us,” says Stapp. “It really defines and articulates, melody-wise and lyrically, what’s happened with us. We’ve come full circle and it’s a great place to be. The goal is get release the first single before the tour and have the album come out during the tour or right after.” What’s the status of Stapp’s long-in-the-works second solo disc? “I’m not really thinking about that right now,” he says. “It would be irresponsible for me to think about anything but Creed. This band is my first love and a first love that’s stood the test of time. It’s not hard to step away from any kind of personal agenda when you are totally fulfilled.”

Tratando de salvar al telescopio "Hubble", la NASA envió al espacio al más famoso “Top Gun”

La misión, que partió ayer en el transbordador Atlantis, es casi"imposible". Por eso recurrieron a Scott Altman, un militar que fue "doble" de Tom Cruise.

Partió desde Cabo Cañaveral el transbordador Atlantis, en lo que para muchos científicos es la misión “imposible”, o lo que para otros se trata de una complejísima “cirugía cerebral espacial”. Se trata de arreglar al telescopio "Hubble", que fuera lanzado en 1990, y que debido a fallas electrónicas, está casi fuera de uso, flotando por el universo. Si lo pueden arreglar, quizás pueda servir 5 años más y pasaría a ser diez veces más potente del que fuera lanzado unos 20 años atrás. Pese a todo, el Hubble, es uno de los instrumentos que más puede servir para entender el desarrollo de las galaxias y las constelaciones estelares. En su momento al ser lanzado se lo definió como una verdadera “maravilla” por su supuesta capacidad de producir las imágenes complejas del Universo. Luego, unos años más tarde empezó a tener problemas, y ésta es la quinta reparación que se intenta (que se vino postergando por razones de seguridad).

Para ello la NASA eligió en esta misión a uno de sus mejores hombres. El capitán de la nave Atlantis en esta oportunidad es el ex piloto de aviones de guerra, Scott Altman, que participara en el film “Top Gun” hace unos 23 años atrás, volando un F-14, haciendo de “doble” real de Tom Cruise (el protagonista en la ficción se lo conoció como Pete Maverick).

El Hubble, que técnicamente está fuera de foco a unos 700 kilómetros de la Tierra, podría volver intentar emitir más de medio millón de fotografías del universo si es reparado. Es una pieza que costó 1.500 millones de dólares y que si no se arregla podría caer lentamente en la órbita terrestre y terminar destruido. Hay que arreglarle al Hubble los giroscopios, cambiarle las gastadas baterías, y renovarle la computadora que envía los datos a la Tierra. Para ello hará falta varias caminatas espaciales, que van a durar unas cuantas jornadas.

Pero la NASA, está preocupada porque la misión va a ir mucho más allá de la estación espacial internacional, y entrará en órbitas más lejanas, donde inclusive se cree hay materiales de satélites descartados que podrían afectar al Atlantis si se produce un inesperado golpe contra su estructura. Según expresó el capitán Altman “el riesgo es mayor, porque no tenemos la estación espacial para cubrirnos si algo sale mal, ahí estaremos solos”. El viaje podría durar unos 25 días, y se inició ayer lunes por la tarde.

Según declaró a la cadena CNN, “Guiar un transbordador espacial es mucho más desafiante que hacer un film sobre un avión que sobrevuela una torre de control a baja altura”. Y tiene razón. La misión conllevará orbitar a casi 40 mil kilómetros por hora, intentar subirse al Hubble, y allí, colgados de cables, ponerse a arreglarlo. Es tanto el riesgo que la NASA ha dispuesto un segundo transbordador (el Endeavour) en estado de alerta, si por las dudas debe ser lanzado a rescatar a los “astronautas” y al capitán Altman, si la misión entra en problemas.
